Lead the design, development and maintenance of ActionScript 3 / Adobe Flash applications and AIR projects, ensuring stability and compatibility across target platforms.
Build and maintain Node.js-based tooling and build pipelines for asset processing, automated testing and deployment of Flash/AIR artifacts.
Drive migration efforts from legacy Flash/SWF assets to modern HTML5/JavaScript solutions (CreateJS, PixiJS, Phaser, or equivalent) where appropriate, producing robust fallback strategies.
Optimize multimedia performance, memory usage and rendering pipelines; profile, debug and resolve runtime issues across desktop and mobile targets.
Collaborate with designers, QA and backend engineers to integrate with services, define specifications and deliver high-quality interactive experiences.
Mentor junior engineers, establish coding standards and contribute to architecture and roadmap decisions for legacy support and modernization.
Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Multimedia Technology or equivalent practical experience.
Experience Level: Minimum 7 years professional experience developing Flash/ActionScript applications, with proven work on AIR, SWF-based projects and content migration efforts.
Skills and Competencies: Strong ActionScript 3 knowledge, Adobe Animate/Flash Professional and Adobe AIR; proficient with Node.js for tooling, build automation and simple backend integration; solid JavaScript/HTML5 experience for migration work.
Responsibilities and Duties: Maintain legacy codebases, implement CI/build tooling, create migration plans to HTML5, collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure delivery of stable releases.
Working Conditions: Hybrid work model with occasional onsite collaboration and testing; willingness to participate in on-call rotations or extended hours around major releases.
Qualities and Traits: Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, ability to mentor others and a pragmatic approach to balancing legacy support with modernization.
