Overall purpose, duties, and responsibilities of the role:

The Project and Strategy Manager is responsible the development and management of strategic initiatives of East West Ageas and measuring results by interacting with senior leaders, project sponsors, owners and concerned business units. This person also ensures that strategies, projects and supporting actions are implemented effectively in the organization


Duties and Responsibilities:


Strategy

  • Support the development of the company's corporate strategies through the set strategic planning framework and support the facilitation of strategic / tactical planning sessions based on the general directions set by the CEO and EWA MCO
  • Work closely with department heads to identify growth opportunities which can serve as input to EWA MCO when deciding planned and emergent strategic directions
  • Oversee and ensure the alignment of strategy execution through the conduct of periodic strategy review sessions at department level
  • Assess and monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives against established goals, metrics and industry benchmarks
  • Prepare periodic strategy monitoring and project management implementation reports and presentations to department leads and provide insights and updates on the company's strategic initiatives
  • Work closely with the Finance Team in the presentation and discussion of overall financial performance vis-à-vis set strategies and corporate objectives


Project Management

  • Implement analysis, prioritization, documentation and optimization of project plans to ensure effective implementation and alignment to the overall strategic of EWA
  • Provide guidance to the department and project leads to translate high-level corporate strategies into projects and action plans to drive business performance and achieve company objectives


Market / Industry Research

  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and industry best practices which may involve desk research, local networking or partnering with Ageas counterparts
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Provide an economic and industry report to business unit heads and Manco as an input to the strategic planning process



Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business or a related field
  • Five (5) years work experience in corporate strategy and project management
  • Experience in conducting strategic and tactical planning sessions involving senior leaders
  • Familiarity with strategic management and project management framework and tools
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from internal stakeholders and cross functional teams
