Key Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of baked goods, pastries, cakes, tarts, and desserts according to recipes and menus. - Ensure all pastries and desserts are prepared with precision and creativity to meet the restaurant's standards. - Decorate pastries and desserts to an exceptional standard, ensuring both taste and visual appeal. - Monitor and maintain inventory of baking ingredients, placing orders as needed to avoid shortages. - Oversee the proper storage of ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness and quality. - Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, adhering to health and safety regulations. - Collaborate with other kitchen staffto ensure timely delivery of orders and to meet service expectations. - Continuously innovate by experimenting with new recipes and techniques. - Train and mentor junior pastry staff, providing guidance on techniques, presentation, and efficiency. - Maintain excellent communication with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations. - Handle any customer special requests or dietary requirements, such as gluten-free or vegan options.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker in a high-end establishment. - Strong knowledge of pastry and dessert techniques, with an understanding of flavor profiles, textures, and presentation. - Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency. - Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. - Creative and innovative approach to dessert creation. - Ability to lead and work collaboratively with a team. - Strong time-management and organizational skills. - Formal culinary training is a plus, but not required.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. - Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
